I tried my hand at teaching back in circa 2010. I took a PDGE course but failed to make the grade.

My knowledge and theory were fine, but my classroom control was a no go. Maybe in England I wouId have passed, but they are tough on that aspect of teaching in Scotland. I did not give up easily. I would have loved to teach Maths, Physics, and Chemistry.

I did teach several individuals as a private tutor, with good results, but that looks about as much as I can do.

Of course, if I had been accepted, I would most certainly NOT have been perceived well by the authorities on a number of matters, and I have talked to a lot of teachers since. In the UK many jobs are very challenging these days, and teaching is certainly on that list. I count my blessings that I have.
