My good friend, nitrite in any form is not a human food...

It's cumulative and not digested, and proven to cause cancer heart disease, and diabetes, among other serious ailments...

Sodium nitrite is a powerful oxidizing agent that causes hypotension and limits oxygen transport and delivery in the body through the formation of methemoglobin...

These side effects can also include cyanosis, hypoxia, altered consciousness, dysrhythmias, and death...

Sodium nitrate (and its cousin additive sodium nitrite) is a common preservative used in cured meat products including bacon, deli meat, and jerky...

Why would anyone actually eat it as food when it's not a food but a poison???

Processed food may be good for the food manufacturer and preserve the food to allow a delivery a longer distance, but it's pure poison for the person eating it...

We don't eat it...

You can find bacon and hot dogs that do not contain ANY non food ingredients, Whole Foods carries those items...

As I said before, anything processed typically contains chemicals that are not fit for human consumption...

I will not eat it nor will anyone in my family...

There are also some vegetables we will not eat since they contain high levels of lectin which is a poison, tomatoes and cucumbers are two of them, if we removed the seeds then we'll eat them sparingly...
