Another consequence of de-urbanization is that political power is shifting away from major cities to rural areas and small cities. IOW.........population shifts that are now taking place across the country will more and more determine election outcomes.
For the near term, it will have the opposite effect. For the next 10 years, Congressional districts will be based on 2020 census. Cities with declining populations will be over-represented.
