| | | Our whole family loved watching Messi broken field dribble, weaving thru 1/2 doz. opponents, then make incredible shots. He may have been the best that ever was. That's an opinion. Always been lots of arguing over who was the best athlete in any sport. And I don't argue about anything on SI. Just a reply or two & move on.
So I'll close with these points. In recent years, in spite of shamelessly cheering for the guy...watched him repeatedly fail to execute the dribbling magic for which he was once notorious. He's also been missing flow of play shots on goal, AWA free kicks from outside the 18 yard line, he used to consistently make.
It helps to watch other star players from the past & present to see a more complete picture of soccer greatness. Have you watched Sergio Aguero, in recent years? Super skills stars like Neymar from Brazil? Zoltan Ibrahimovich, from Sweden? Or, most recently, gifted Paris St. Germaine striker M Beppe? He's another great finisher who can turn broken plays into goals. And there R others I've no time to go into.
Like watching soccer games these days, in part, to escape from overdosing on all the political crap*...))
You have the last word about who's the greatest if you want it. I'm out of posting time for a Messi back n' forth.
All the best to you & your family.
