MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Darrell Brooks made in appearance by phone Tuesday, Nov. 30 in a Milwaukee County courtroom for two open cases in Milwaukee County.
Brooks is the suspected driver who plowed through the Waukesha Holiday Parade on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021.
In court Tuesday, the state said it will seek to modify Brooks' bail in his Milwaukee cases.
At the time of the parade attack, Brooks was out on $1000 cash bond in a domestic violence case, where he allegedly tried to run over he mother of his child with a car.
The prosecutor says Brooks tried to intimidate a victim in that case.
Brooks' public defender also withdrew in court Tuesday, citing a conflict of interest. The attorney said he's connected to victims in the Waukesha case.
Brooks will be will be back in court for the Milwaukee cases on Monday, Dec. 20.
He remains in the Waukesha County jail on $5 million cash bond.
Milwaukee County district attorney, John Chisholm, will publicly address Brooks' low bond on Thursday, Dec. 2. He tells CBS 58 that he'll speak before the Milwaukee County Board Judiciary and Public Safety Committee meeting at 1:30 p.m. |
