Astrophysicists claim that the center of each spiral galaxy rotates much faster than the spiral arms. How do these arms remain distinct after millions of years? I don't see how the twin nebulae explain this question?
The source of water could have been two-fold. The earth is described in Genesis as having an upper water 'firmament', meaning a sort of canopy of water vapor or ice. A true greenhouse effect with co2 in abundance (17 times present levels), leading to lush plant growth. The second source is described as coming from the deeps. The floor of the ocean deeps may have changed (raised), furnishing plenty of water to cover the land areas. This is seen by creationists as a 'cataclysmic' event, i.e. break-up of pangaea with concomitant vulcanism, rapid deposition, etc. Mass extinctions, except for those few of each 'kind' saved in the ark. After the great flood, we have an end, for the most part, of giantism. Note that under this scenario, homo sapien exists contemporaneous with dinosaurs. The geologic time scale is claimed to be false because of circular reasoning, i.e. dating rocks with fossils, which in turn are dated by the stratigraphy in which they are found. If there is a bias in the reporting of fossils in strata in which it is impossible for them to be found in, then the circular reasoning may have validity. For example, trilobites were recently found in eocene I believe strata in Texas along with human remains. These finds were deep within the rocks, not in caves or at the margins of the deposits.
Mike makes a good point that there are wind-blown deposits or loess to significant depths (200 ft at Omaha) sandwiched between pluvial deposits? How can this occur in a brief period of time? I wish I had thought of that question when I was attending the seminar.
Smaller examples of each 'kind' (species) only survived the flood. There is evidence that the Chinese actually kept 'dragons' as a domesticated small animal and used them on special occasions to draw carts in their processions, hence the dragon parade in New Years celebrations. There are drawing of these animals. Also, St. George and others were said to do battle in the British Isles against these creatures. Mere fanciful stories or some basis in fact? There are some beetles that emit hydrogen peroxide 'explosions' from their rear ends to ward off predators. Beans occasionally have the same effect (gg).
