Novell and Netscape and JAVA

"What apps are going to run on Moab? Or do we still just have file and print services?"

There it is. Any NOVL investor care to find the cause of NOVL's decline? Joe's statement is right up there with the Salah inspired "show me the money".

My only answer is that if not JAVA based apps using network object services for JAVA then what? Are there any other network standards for software in place? That is why Stone is there. To make sure NOVL participates in over the net apps. NOVL has to reinvent the end user applications platform and reorient it toward the Internet for it to get out of its rut. I believe the current CEO understands that and is trying to do that. I don't know if he will be successful.

Novell should jump on the opportunity Netscape has given it. If necessary rewrite the client end of the JVM and put the browser functions into Groupware. Lower the Groupware price. Get ahead of the curve.

As I write this I'm sure it has occurred to Gates where the browser is going but right now he thinks bundling in all of these web sites and streaming unwanted data to you is the commercial angle. Well Novell do something with your Groupware product. Get it in the end users face.
