The saw is a Husqvarna, I think. Either an 18" or 20". Not a beast. Sharp teeth on the blade, well running. It's used about once every couple of months, sometimes for hours at a time.

I will definitely use hearing and eye protection. Planned on it. Tight fitting clothes. Work boots (although no steel toes. Just plastic under leather). The tree is fairly green. Not Oak.

I was looking at buying a chain saw yesterday, and I was impressed by all the safety features they have on them, including anti-kickback. I never knew about that.

I actually have an old electric one for little stuff, but that thing's a joke.

I definitely will take things slow. No need to fight the wood.

I seem to recall that 5/16" round files are chainsaw tooth files. I might have one of those.
