iTunes keeps track of the number of times that we have played a music file.

If I download a music file from my PC to my iPhone, and play it ten times from the iPhone, when I sync my iPhone with the PC next will it update the number of plays of that file to add the ten played from the iPhone?

Just curious. Anybody know? I guess since the PC and iPhone are both logged into my iTunes account, perhaps the number of plays of each music file is automatically synced between the two devices, and between any devices where I am logged into my iTunes account?
