These are usually ambiguous numbers. The stock price at a given time is precisely known but the EARNINGS used to compute the P/E ratio mus be "assumed" - for example, "instantaneous" earnings, trailing 4 quarters, estimated future earnings, etc.

Be careful in evaluating an P/E ratio - make sure you understand what "E" is being used.

As for Intel having a high P/E ratio - I think it's P/E ratio is right in line with all the other world leaders in CPU production and market share.
