I, too, keep track of the monthly appreciation in dividends. I also keep track of the estimated total yearly dividends from SSD (Simply Safe Dividends) based on my portfolio with them. It is interesting to me to be able to see the yearly gains, as well as, the month over month gains by year. I have been tracking since end of 2018.
