I own AMGN and I have owned MRK in the past. My wife has a small MRK position in her IRA. I think both are great values at the moment. AMGN is more of a growth vehicle. Strictly speaking, it is a biotech company. MRK is "big pharma stability". Slow and steady, no big risks. They are both great companies. Dave
