John, I would like to add my kudos for the excellent
job you have done in keeping us informed about Intel.
As you obviously have gathered for the most part we
are Intel groupies who have a great deal of belief
and confidence in the technology, management, manufac-
turing, marketing and vision that Intel has displayed.
It is VERY useful for us to have some sober reminders of
reality when we get carried away with ourselves. I
am a long term holder. Started with an IRA purchase
in 1983 and just went along for the ride. Bought more in
January of this year. When I went to buy more, my broker
sent me a report from a well respected house that said
that Intel's days of great growth were behind it and there
was real trouble brewing in the PC market. At that time I
had just had to fight through a crowd at Comp USA just to
eyeball some peripheral devices and I decided that the
analyst was dead wrong. Through your remarks and the info
I get here I feel that I am among the most well informed
followers of Intel. Short of physically visiting Intel
(which I did years ago as an engineer - In 1975 I placed what
was then the largest order Intel ever received up to then
for 8080s) this forum and your inputs keep me up to date.
Keep up the good work and tell your boss that you deserve
a raise.
