Joe Manchin doesn't think Biden's BBB act will reduce inflation

Sen. Joe Manchin reportedly wants a number of changes to President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better act before he’ll vote for it:

According to reports, the West Virginia Dem wants to “pare down provisions in the House-passed BBB package, including its paid family leave program, a methane fee on emissions, a plan to tax billionaires and an expansion of Medicare to cover hearing aids”:

He also told journo he doesn’t believe the act will reduce inflation, which is the spin from the White House:

Manchin not buy argument that BBB would control inflation, a key WH message.

“I haven't seen that. I've heard that. I don't, I don't know how you control inflation when there's the first year of spending is going to be quite large,” he said to us.

And he’s in no rush to pass it before Christmas:

Manchin not wedded to Xmas deadline but it’s clear it’s a heavy lift to get his backing by then. “I’m not skeptical. I'm just basically a realist. There's an awful lot there and a lot of changes to be done and you're throwing it at a time when it's very vulnerable in our economy”

He’s right:

Manchin is dead right. t.co

And good luck with this, Dems:

Dems weigh forcing Manchin's hand on BBB bill. Some Dems want to bring the bill to the floor with or without Manchin’s commitment

Durbin: “All this speculation notwithstanding, people have to face the reality of yes or no”

Yes, yes, keep it up. A white board presentation will surely change Manchin’s mind:
