GOF hasn't always paid the full distribution with ROC. However, part of the "managed distribution" process is that in order to keep the income level steady, it sometimes requires issuing ROC, it's part of the reason the fund has never had a distribution cut.

I'll grant you, the recent ROC history would be a concern but my thought process was that I wasn't going to do anything until GOF did something to help improve their situation. They just finished merging two of their other funds giving GOF a larger presence now with lower expenses due to one fund with fees as opposed to three.

I thought they might adjust the distribution following the mergers but they didn't so I went ahead and added a small position and will manage it from here.

I'm not selling GOF here, simply explaining my thought process and sharing what it was I purchased today.
