Francine,

I think that is a very good possibility for a number of reasons.

1. Tremendous growth in notebook computers--Xircom is a direct play on that market (new OEM agreements with Toshiba and DEC)

2. Switch to a shorter inventory channel-- this will allow them to monitor the channel closer and respond quicker to new developments

3. New combo card-- this has been the fastest selling product in the company's history

4. Joint R&D with INTC-- the smaller players in the market won't be able to keep up with the technology-- this will give Xircom the staying power (INTC also took a 15% equity stake last April)

5. Large majority of their manufacturing done in Malaysia-- gives them more pricing flexibility

6. A number of value-oriented mutual funds have been buyers since last fall--these are the type of people I'd rather bet with, than against.

Xircom had a solid quarter (Dec) after a truly horrendous quarter in September. The march quarter will answer a lot of longer term questions but the stock looks like it forming a nice base down here.

AL

p.s. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask them on this thread.
