Poking around looking for something else... which reminded me of this post... when I ran across this instead:

There are quite a few 1970 - 1990 versions of the song posted on Youtube... wildly variable in the quality of both performance and recording... as one might expect... the later versions missing both the player and his ability as well as the point... but, the linked 1971 live version from the article doesn't have a functional link... although maybe it was this one... or maybe this one from 1970 at least illustrates the point... even if its not the best example... ?


Anyway, thought you might enjoy it...
