Waiting to see is exactly what I’m doing. I bought a PCI starter position yesterday. I’ll hold now until next week. I’m curious about the arbitrage, and where PDI goes from here. I imagine that interest rates are the driving force in the near term, and not in a positive manner for a 40% leveraged mortgage fund. My next move may be to liquidate the holding after locking in Monday’s special dividend. This may be a “picking up nickels in front of a steamroller” situation, but I was curious about the merger’s effects. Overall, a 10% yielding, 40% leveraged mortgage/bond fund in a rising interest rate environment is probably a bridge too far.
