I'm not going to get in a long back and forth political debate but I'll just say,...
We were not in peace environment and the prosperity is debatable.
He ignored foreign policy.
The peace you speak of was the work of Bush. He was the ex CIA head, duh! Bush did things we can't speak of that put out fires before anyone knew they were smoldering. Still...
There were numerous genocides and wars occurring but he generally ignored them until he got caught in a scandal then he sent the military in only as a distraction. He had a shot at Osama bin laden and let him go.
He started the erosion of military benefits we were promised in exchange for being underpaid and over worked in a career. We were promised life long health care and he pulled the rug out.
His PC don't ask don't tell was the finishing blow that has led to costs skyrocketing for VA treatment/costs. (HIV/HEP-C treatment costs a lot more than typical aging in the straight population of vets)
As for prosperity. His administration was pretty much the beginning of the mom and dad both working trend so of course, with 2 incomes instead of just one, things seemed good. Especially because childcare was still cheap. A lot of his budget work was forced by the Republican majority in the house/senate.
I don't necessarily have a problem with him playing with cigars either. I did have a problem with him lying about it... under oath
He definitely wasn't the worst president.
