Re: NVIDIA vs. Qualcomm and Autonomous Cars

Comments from Jim Mullins on the Qualcomm moderated message board.

Snip=

+ What defines NVIDIA is its soup-to-nuts approach to this opportunity.

+ Qualcomm’s approach is far less comprehensive

The author is apparently focusing on the autonomous aspects of the automotive arena.

However, QCOM appears to be involved in much more than just the autonomous space and appears to present more immediate revenue opportunities. As Jeffrey has pointed out- NVDA as one of the market darlings gets most of the attention, but QCOM’s automotive revenue far exceeds NVDA’s, and is growing much faster –

.$M..........fy20.....fy21....fy22.......fy23.....fy24

QCOM....$644....$975..............................$1.4B - $13B in pipeline (’21 SD Summit)
..YoY%................51%
NVDA.....$536....$576....$540.....$800
..YoY....................7%......(6%)..... 48%.

NVDA’s figures are from a recent Credit Suisse report.

Hopefully Arun can also comment on Bradley’s analysis of the two companies within the automotive segment.
