High Yield--Payback% - Does payback % influence investing?

I am not talking about DGI type stocks, or growth stocks. I have many multiples of payback on AAPL, but I know what to do with that.

I am talking about higher yield, income only producing types of investments. BDCs, CEFs, mREITs, funds like QYLD, etc.

I have several BDCs approaching a payback % of 100%. Meaning, I have received distributions and/or capital gains that are going to now exceed my investment amount.

Does one take the money and "play" with house money? Does one just keep, keeping on until things change?

I am interested in how folks deal with this.
