Here are a couple of true stories that I personally know.

A lady that I know lives with her mom. She has the upper floor and the mom lives downstairs. The mother hears the dog persistent barks and goes up to complain to her daughter to keep the dog quiet. She found her with a brain stroke in the shower. The dog saved her life.

My youngest brother had an English bulldog. The dog was very well behaving, gentle, and super smart. He was probably the most clearly communicating dog that I have known. Anyways, one day my mom was in the basement doing the laundry when my brother hears the dog barking very alarmingly like he'd never heard before. The dog then runs up and tugs on his pants. So my brother runs down and finds my mom choking on an almond. That dog saved my mom's life.
