BTW, if you had bought at those numbers when they were hit, you would have made good money soon afterwards. So I was right in identifying the bounce/temporary bottoms for BABA. And I was also right in assessing them as trades rather than investments when they got hit.

I rarely trade based on absolute levels. I look at the market dynamics and reassess. This is why my latest post on the subject said that the exact timing will depend on my read of the market, but at least one of these two conditions need to be met before I consider investing in BABA.

You can invest based on absolute levels, but only if (1) it is a deep value, and (2) you really appreciate all the major risks and dynamics involved. Under such conditions, I may engage in fighting the tape. But that rarely happens. Most of the time I want good alignment between the technicals and the fundamentals.
