The argument for Biden was that he was a moderate and electable. Sure, he got elected, but he gave in to the progressive agenda without having the votes in the Senate. In life, you take what you can. It's called being pragmatic.

The Left shot their load off and were stymied by two Senators. It only pays to fight if you can win. This was a losing battle from the outset. They needed to put in the bill what was passable. Manchin said from the outset he was not a liberal. That is to say, he was trying to tell the progressives that the social infrastructure bill, as constituted, was not going to pass.

Liberals and Progressives didn't listen or care. What they did was shoot themselves, as far as the American public was concerned.

West Virginia is as Red as they come. They are applauding Manchin's choice.
