Re: CEF's Purchased

After doing my DD this month, I have opened starter positions in the following CEF's.

Primary objective is to increase my portfolio income. I realize that a couple of the CEF's purchased, income is not the primary objective but I wanted a more concentrated exposure to those sectors and companies.

  • EOS - Fairly valued IMHO and will provide a nice income boost

  • RNP - Slightly over valued IMO and will provide more income while increasing my exposure to to real estate.

  • UTG - A little overvalued but not terrible. Will increase the income as well, and I've grown to like the safe income utilities provide.

  • BST - Not really income focused but I wanted more exposure here and it seems to be selling at a value.

  • BME - Another that's in an area I wanted more exposure to. I wouldn't say it's selling at a very good valuation here but I think it's "with in" range.

  • ASG - Selling at a slight premium but undervalued IMO. It's holdings were different enough from BST to make it interesting. Not income oriented.

I'm also contemplating adding either NIE or CSQ. At the moment I'm leaning towards NIE. Their valuation is better, holdings are comparable to CSQ but different. At the moment I'm hung up on the management change at NIE. Not sure if it's a deal breaker, just need to delve into it a little more and see how I feel about the "new" guy.
