Originally Answered: What weapons can I carry in Canada for self defence? Canada is unfortunately an exceedingly stupid country. Any country that valued human life would recognize the right of the individual to arm themselves for security. Canada does not. So, since we can assume that carrying ANY sort of weapon for the purpose of self-defense is liable to get you arrested, and probably pepper-sprayed, tasered, beaten, shot, imprisoned, raped, etc., etc., then what you’re going to have to do is learn how to be highly observant and always keep an eye open for “found” objects that can be used as weapons in a pinch. If someone jumps you, grab anything that can be used effectively: a rock, a stick, a length of chain, rope or wire, and use it in any way you can to deter or disable your assailant. Steel toed boots are good for maximizing the effectiveness of a kick. Ramming each of your thumbs deep into an assailant’s eyes may render them temporarily or permanently blind, and thus hinder their efforts to assault you. You can use your teeth to tear their throat open; this is especially useful if one assailant is holding your arms behind you while a second assailant assaults you from the front. If you’re worried about damaging your teeth, consider that your assailant is liable to break your teeth anyway with a punch, so why not bite their knuckles, wrist, or any other part of them you can reach with your jaws? Go crazy kicking, punching, and biting them until they either succeed in subduing you or decide you’re too much trouble and give up on assaulting you. The worst thing you could possibly do when someone assaults you is Nothing. This makes it too easy for them, and encourages them to go on assaulting others after they’ve debilitated or murdered you. If you’re going to be dead or injured anyway, it makes sense to use every ounce of energy you have against your assailant(s). |
