If you check the Java Charts you'll see that the 10,000 at 7-1/2 was cancelled and then executed at 7-7/16.
I have no opinion as to what it means. Actually I see very little link any more between what the company is doing and what the stock is doing. If there were a relationship, this stock would be selling at a much higher price. I believe Joe Harary even said something at the REFR conference about the stock price not reflecting how well the company was progressing towards helping licensees deliver products to the market.
I have to admit I enjoy solving puzzles and since the action on this stock had been puzzling me I got very excited when I was able to access the trade by trade information. As far as using this information on a day-to-day basis, I don't think I want to spend the better part of my life watching every tick of the stock. I think that is actually what has hurt people over the past few years. Every time there was a sell off, panic set in about what it meant in regards to the company.
Meanwhile the scientists at REFR have been meticulously plodding on the road to commercialization. They have perfected this technology, they have found film producers for their licensees, they have cleared the way for safety approval of their rearview mirror, they have protected investors with an infusion of private placement capital providing a healthy safety net while they do what needs to be done, they have heard the frustration of long-term shareholders and disclosed everything that they ethically and legally can, making sure that they protect the proprietary nature of their relationship with their licensees----and still people don't get it. They buy and sell stock based on their emotions, rumors and mindless speculation.
So as far as speculating as to who's doing what in the market moment by moment I don't believe it will really matter at the end of the day.
Just make sure you own REFR when the ship comes in --- whether you pay 2 or 14 or 20 or even 50, it won't make a difference (do you think any Microsoft investors beat themselves up because they paid 15 instead of 7?). And if you don't believe in the company you shouldn't own it. I think Joe Harary gave us plenty of reasons to believe and that's all I need to know about this stock.
Sorry for the long-winded response but I wanted to make it clear that although I've enjoy monitoring the activity lately, I'm in this for the long haul because of what the people at REFR have accomplished. |
