There are two television programs set in Montana. I thought I would love them, but I don't.

One is called "Yellowstone" and is produced by Kevin Costner. I knew right away that the filming was done in the Bitterroot Valley, not the Yellowstone, because I'm very familiar with the landscape there. Real Estate values have gone through the roof since the show premiered. I rue the decision I made after graduating from college to NOT buy 80 acres for $12000. I'd be rich now, if I had done that. The other thing I don't like is the potty mouth Beth Dutton, John Dutton's fictional daughter. She's fine, it's the language I don't like.

The other is called "Big Sky". It's based on my favorite author CJ Box's novels in the "Highway" series, but I can't connect with the characters at all. I think the producers should study "Gunsmoke" reruns to learn how to make characters and plot less painful to the viewer.

Anybody disagree? Agree? Let me know.
