One thing I noticed about i-node's comments early on and since yours and others' is the emphasis on violence. If it's not violent, it's OK. I saw that especially early on in the comparison with BLM protests treating them like they were equivalent events. Also the focus on the event at the Capitol as an independent event, just another rally.

The affront of the event at the Capitol was not that it was violent. It was that it was part of an attempt to overturn the election. "Be there. It will be wild." That had come weeks earlier.

"Stay peaceful" mid afternoon was both too focused on repudiating the violence, which marred an otherwise wonderful event, without repudiating the inglorious coup behind it and way, way too late in the process.
