I remember the Frank Church hearings in 1975. Back then, under the circumstances, I thought what he was doing was terrible. And maybe it was - but looking back, he clearly hit upon a problem. By now, it’s obvious.

As for the AMA… it doesn’t speak for American docs. It’s paid membership has always been low. By now, it’s more or less a quasi government organization of secondary importance. They comply.
