They just hate MMT, and they did not even try to prove which theory assumptions and conclusions are wrong - item by item. The bane of all discussion these days, particularly anything that touches on the political. Almost impossible to find constructive criticism. Almost impossible to do constructive criticism as I often try hereabouts but it is taken, instead, as political countering. Hopefully academics are still able to do that within their realms even if not what they produce for public consumption. I find myself ambivalent about most issues these days because I just can't get enough quality input to form a quality opinion. I had recently read this McWhorter piece, nytimes.com which referred me to this book on the Socratic Method. amazon.com The author was proposing that such things are still relevant. Seems quaint. Sad.
