>> You live in a Trumpcentric world.
This is absolutely false. Hell, I support Dan Crenshaw (as centrist as you can get in the Republican party), who most Trump supporters think is a RINO. I think with a bit more depth than you credit me for, perhaps because I support Trump. Trump has many supporters like me, you should not be confused.
Trump is a centrist; but you get hung up on his personality regardless of his policy. I do believe if he wants to win in a slam dunk he will need to bring down the rhetoric a couple notches and if he doesn't it leaves him exposed in some areas.
But we cannot have Congress attacking presidents politically. That just doesn't work. Congress has a legitimate role under the Constitution, but we are far beyond any appropriate role for Congress at this point. It is entirely personal, you know it, I know it.
Today, this day, 57% of Republicans see the FBI as literal Jackboots, while 53% of Democrats (barely half) hold a favorable opinion of FBI. This is because FBI has been abused by partisans in the so-called "Deep State" in an effort to elect Clinton in 2016 and to remove Trump on multiple occasions in subsequent years.
I trust you know a lot about government because of your background. But you are entirely confused about the appropriate role of Congress if it attempts partisan impeachment of a sitting president 3 times in four years, and fails miserably each time to make a case.
There is not a really good means of settling disputes between Congress and the President. Marbury v. Madison was a good, least bad choice of the available alternatives. Democrats are doing great harm to the country by attacking the man we elected. Even today, our Congress is trying in the background to institutionalize the cheating that stole the 2020 election.
We should have a civilized conversation about how to fix our elections systems. Because it is a walking disaster at this point and begs to be either fixed or third world. It cannot be both. At this moment it is third world.
I believe if Pelosi were to drop dead today it would solve a lot of problems, but her incompetence has brought us to a place where someone who has stood up to her time and again needs to be president. And AFAIK, only one person has done that. |
