Hi Tony:

That was just my gut feeling. Yes mostly due to ASIA problems being somehow forgotten in this group which you could argue would be one of the groups to be most seriously affected by a lack of growth there. AMAT announces next week and I think we'll find out for certain then.

Generally declining BTBs are not a good thing and now that they have gone under 1.00 for the front-end guys (with the full Asian spending slow-down likely not included so far) I don't see why the market should be so boldly bullish.

True the Europeans may pull through but I suspect much of semi-equip spending is somehow DRAM related and with the vast majority of DRAM manufacturers in that part of the world and the DRAM oversupply and the announcements from the companies there that they would reduce their spending, for the life of me I can't see why these stocks have gone up so fast so quickly!

Anyway this is all just mumbling. No real good info. other than the real important stuff that there seems to be more delays in the 300mm area - which would hurt the front-end guys.

I think a good forward indicator of AMAT's business is KNT. I had been meaning to call them up but have not done so. Have been blown away by KNT's appreciation the last few weeks and was wondering if this was bogus or real.

Heck if AMAT is accelerating orders at KNT and KNT's appreciation in price is real then in all of the above I'm dead wrong!!!! And more importantly about 3 weeks ago I sold some of my SVGI at 21 5/8 and I don't want that stock pulling away from me for good!!!
