>> Please address the most recent one and tell me how your proposal would better guard against granny's vote being co-opted by her nurse or other nearby person than her filling out a paper absentee ballot.

To address your question directly, there are numerous biometric options in addition to simply using a password or pin. 75 and 80 year olds have no difficulty with them. If a person is so dysfunctional they can’t make their own decision, then you would still need another person (just as you do today) to deal with it.

Some people simply require assistance and there is nothing do about it.

The problem that is the greatest threat is The theft of votes by harvesting which seems to have become institutionalized at this point. While there is no perfection in security it is apparent we can do better with the simplest of of technology; most will be stopped by the simple biometrics built into cell phones these days.

For tighter security there are numerous alternatives that can require two factor authentication for those who need the voting app secured by a third party. Today, there are excellent ways of securing a document as needed.

We need to stop the theft with what we know is ultimately the way forward. Security can be tightened as needed.
