Re SBUX:

SBUX is a company I have no position in but was watching for a possible new addition to my portfolio. For me the growth rate of the dividend was the main attraction.

When the unionization chatter began, that was a reason (at least for me) to pause and re-access the situation. My gut was telling me to pause and see what develops.

My intuition tells me that while unionization has only affected a few of their locations, SBUX is acutely aware of the situation and as such will begin to hoard cash a little more aggressively. I think we'll see minimum price increases for their products along with a much reduced dividend growth rate. This in itself is a deal breaker for me should it develop as I envision.
