Money flows impact everything - always - and the bulk of the money spent on healthcare comes through the hands of federal gov bureaucrats. Just like their messing with money printing and interest rates cause dislocations and corruptions in business and investment - that’s also exactly what happens to healthcare.

I think the only thing which may possibly change this for the better is to create a double system of healthcare - one run by the government, and the other - strictly private. It could work if the public system is strictly a safety net (to which everyone would be entitled, and which could be supplemented by paying out of pocket or using private insurance). But - it would probably take a Constitutional amendment to keep them from spending unlimited borrowed trillions to help their social safety net to take over everything.

Complex issue, no easy answers. It would take a serious national debate - and the kind of leadership we presently do not have.
