I don't see 62kt in that paper. Looks like 20kt to me.

Since the Tonga eruption may not be over, his approach is like an exercise in whistling past the graveyard.

And Tonga may not even be the one that causes real trouble.
Other volcanoes have shown potential for that in the not too distant future.

With Tonga, that shockwave has me wondering about the Earth rotation speed glitches and geomagnetic jerks.
