Yes, it’s all true. During the years I was in practice, there were times when some hot heads among my colleagues pushed for some collective action on some issue or other. That never took off the ground - exactly for the reasons you mention. Can’t abandon patients. But, I think it might be useful from time to time - like, to push back against pharmacy boards that refused to accept legitimate prescriptions. Or to object to illiterate idiotic and harmful mandates. To my knowledge, none of the existing organizations moved a finger. They seem to worry more about their political connections than about patients and doctors.
