Interested in folks' thoughts on this.

I'll be 59.5 on 2/19/22 and will be rolling over my 403b to an IRA. Right now I'm thinking of doing this on "2's day" - Tuesday, 2/22/22.

Currently it is mostly in MFs as this is what I'm allowed to have in it. I do have about 7% cash as I turned off dividend and capital gains reinvestment last fall. The balance has gone as high as $950k. Right now it's around $900k. My taxable account has held up much better, down about 1% from recent highs. A good time to be in dividend-payers vs the retirement account which is much "growthier."

I will be selling the vast majority of the MFs to convert to stocks (keeping $50k each in two high-performers). Lately I've found myself asking if it would make more sense to sell now and go to cash for a month. Or should I stick with the MFs until, probably, Friday February 18 when I'd put my sell orders in?

I won't need any of this to live on and shouldn't need to touch it until I'm 72, in 2034, for RMDs. So it's not like wealth preservation is critical. OTOH, if we're about to correct 10%, why not take advantage?

This will be a total return account though I expect the majority of stocks I buy will pay dividends. I tend to lean that way.

Ron, let me know if this is too far outside the DGI-verse and I can delete it.
