Freeland is not responsible for what her grandfather did. But, emotionally charged old family stories - unless the person is careful and knows how to stay objective - may badly skew their judgement. They may feel like they have to right 100 year old wrongs. If I were Trudeau, I’d want to interview her very carefully before entrusting her with the conduct of national policies. But… the dude, I hear, is a bit of a screwball himself.
