Based on what B said in the attached email, the estimated additional cost is ~$20k CDN ($16k USD). He communicated that the recent shipping costs are nearly 2x the costs he had previously shared with us in the fall.
For your reference, the tooling POs already include a $1,000 CDN credit for sea freight. B previously communicated to A and myself that he would invoice for the additional costs to air ship. His latest estimate is $24k CDN (-$4k in credit that you’ve already paid as part of the tooling POs = an additional $20k CDN cost.)
I shared these cost increases with our mechanical commodity manager (who manages relationships with M). His response was “we’re seeing logistical nightmares all around”.
