Current Condition of The Market and my thoughts.

The next week or two will determine if the market starts rising again or if the decline continues. Over the next two weeks we are going to see earnings announcements from the following:

MSFT .. NEE .. SBUX .. TXN .. AAPL .. JNJ .. ABT .. CCI .. LMT .. SYK .. MA .. MCD .. ANTM .. ADP .. NSC .. KMB .. SHW .. TSCO .. CE .. CAT .. TROW .. LYB .. BLL .. MKC .. CL .. BMI.

This wide range of sectors, based on their forward looking guidance, will tell us the direction of the market going forward or which sectors are best to invest in. I do think we need a little more exposure in consumer staples, they generally hold up better in corrections and do better than most sectors in an inflationary environment.

I had planned on making a purchase in AMZN Tuesday when the market opened for trading, but before making that purchase I consulted the charts and decided to hold off. AMZN was down on Tuesday.

I then decided I would wait for an up day to buy and it dropped the next 3 days as well with today seeing price down over 6%, down over 12% for the week and now down more than 24% from its 52 week high.

I still plan on buying AMZN but I'm waiting until I see some sign that technology companies are ready to rebound. Year to date that sector is down more than the other 10 sectors, so for now energy and consumer staples have my attention.
