I think, generally, people are not stupid. In Florida there are no mask mandates - except for certain places, like hospitals, where they make their own rules. Until recently, hardly anyone wore masks. With omicron burning through the communities, more people started wearing masks - without any mandates.

My wife and I started wearing masks in late December, several days before she had to have surgery. Would have been the wrong time to have a cold of any kind. We are still careful - for another week or two.

I think this is the ideal solution. People generally have a good sense about what’s better for them. Oppressive gunmints should go and take a long hike.
