When I was a kid everyone called the ruffed grouse a partridge. Today most people call a grouse a grouse. Probably because media insists on using the correct name.

Walleye/Northern Pike/Trout. Personally I think the Northern has more flavor than a walleye. You just have to take a little extra care to remove the "y bones". Not difficult if you know what you are doing,

South of the border everyone calls the Northern Pike a Northern. The contrary Canucks call it a Pike.

Grilled or baked there is nothing better than a Lake Trout.
