I agree - they got away with it. But it matters. Big time. That's why they have to preserve the data for 22 months. There are still legal wranglings in the works and preservation of data that is going to be darn near permanent due to that.

The main thing is that it has to be rooted out and fixed for the next election. Anything else is up to the machinations that are beyond me, but I'm not ruling them out of my wish list.

The more widely known the evidence becomes, the more options there are with Constitutional removal. Probably why Harris was selected - it tends to narrow that option.
