Tim, it all boils down to the same thing - if you threaten a nuclear superpower - and yes, NATO tanks to the East of Moscow ARE a threat - you’re playing a very unsafe game. That is, unless you WANT a war. But if you don’t, that may not be a desirable strategy. Basic geopolitics.

And you’re right, Granada is a very small country. Ukraine to the Russians is more like Mexico wanting to become a Soviet client… along with South America. Thankfully, nothing of the sort happened - but if it did, we would have been at war.
