''I wouldn't get near the Japanese stock market right now,'' he said. ''But I'd feel better after it bounces to the 20,000 level.''

NONSENSE from Dines.

These markets will probably drift down again --- the problems aren't over or even improving necessarily, but one has to look at comparative measures of risk. If you had 100K or 1M to invest now and had to invest it -- would you buy American equities now at an all-time high after a very long running bull market?

On Jan 12 EWM, an index to mirror KLSE traded at 3 1/2 down from a high 6 - 9 months earlier of 14 or so. It may revisit that low before all is said and done, but I find it highly unlikely that the index will be halved again from that low. What do you think? I bought 1000 EWM at 3 5/8 when my gut was telling me to buy 2000. Anything close to 4 again and I'm going to be a buyer.

The time to buy a stock or a region is when everyone is trying to protect you from losing your money!
