I think we're basically stuck with him unless he becomes unworkable due to a cognitive issue or goes off on a kind of criminal tangent or something.

We already know Sleepy Joe has serious (unworkable) cognitive issues.
And... we already know Sleepy Joe and his son Hunter are criminals.
