>>First things first, get your network cards installed and recognized by Win <<

I seem to have a bit of a catch 22.

Step 8 from the manual...Replace the PC cover and reconnect all cables, including the network cable.

Then they indicate you must connect the NIC (Network ?? Card?)to the network before installing the drivers

Well, I don't have a network yet as this is the first machine of two on the network.

Then they go on to say before installing the network driver, ask your system administrator which driver you should install on your PC

I think I am the system administrator and I don't know that answer. Some drivers? get installed automatically when Win 95 recognizes the card. Are they referring to the clients, protocals, and adapters?

Questions

Should I use my coax cable or the one that looks like a telephone (RJ-45)? I have both cables. The RJ-45 cable is cross wired per the package if you want to start with only two PC's.

What about NETBUOY vs the TCP/IP types of network. Where does a conflict with a network dial up connection surface ( I panic when I can't connect to the Internet), The dial-up adapter also seems to use TCP/IP protocals. Is the dial-up connection a form of a network? How do I avoid an interaction between the two networks and is this a concern?

Thanks
