I perceive a streak of marxism-leninism among many ffw (formerly free world) leaders. True followers of that faith do not resign from power. They fight harder. I'd throw in a touch of Nazism. Some are seeking to ostracize / vilify the unvaccinated and "domestic terrorists" (aka mom's concerned about their children's education). When you abuse power and literally millions die from it, resigning can be catastrophic to one's health. Consequences. They rationalize this by arguing that they’re progressive - and are the forward looking, cutting edge of history. They believe it’s their duty to lead. Relinquishing power is simply a bad setback in the forward march of history. Same old, same old with just different twists. It is funny but all progressive's want more control. They tempt with trinkets and beads and we trade for it for liberty. I wouldn't call it leadership, more of a dictatorship. Basement dwellers comply, they have been trained to be submissive and obedient. Inquiring minds want to know more. That’s what those kooks believe. Good post Skin, you always make me think. I am not sure of their motivations. From my corporate world experience, I'd suggest they evolve over time. People often start out as sincere but then believe that a modicum of success grants them deity status. Then there is power and money that comes with it.
